Appeals policy

Think a finding is wrong? Ask HIP to review it.

Website owners and affected users can ask HIP to review an inaccurate or outdated finding. Appeals do not silently overwrite evidence: the request, review state and resulting decision remain attributable and auditable.

  1. 01 · Identify

    Reference the finding

Identify the domain or result and explain which statement appears inaccurate, incomplete or stale.

  2. 02 · Support

    Provide privacy-safe evidence

Include enough verifiable evidence for review, but never submit passwords, tokens, private messages or secrets.

  3. 03 · Review

    Separate ownership from judgment

Domain control can establish who may speak for a site. It does not automatically invalidate a risk finding or establish safety.

  4. 04 · Record

    Explain the decision

HIP records the review outcome and a bounded reason. If evidence changes, a new scan can confirm the updated public state.
