Website trust badge

A badge points to verifiable evidence.

A HIP badge is not purchased proof of safety. It represents a current eligible certificate or verification level under published policy, and its click-through result lets visitors inspect what was issued, when it expires and what it means.

Lifecycle

Eligibility must remain current.

  1. 01 · Prove control

    Verify the domain

Complete the supported DNS or website challenge. This proves control only and is kept separate from safety evidence.

  2. 02 · Meet policy

    Satisfy the requested level

Registered, Verified, Monitored and Certified levels carry different meanings. Stronger levels require the current policy's identity, transport, security and review evidence.

  3. 03 · Issue

    Sign an expiring certificate

The signed record binds the domain, level, policy evidence, issue time and expiry. Certified status includes authorized manual review.

  4. 04 · Revalidate

    Reflect changing conditions

Expiry, renewal, suspension, required revalidation or loss of eligibility can change what the badge represents. Prior signed versions remain part of the audit history.

Visitor checks

What the click-through can show.

Identity

Bound domain

The exact domain and verification meaning, so a copied badge image cannot transfer trust to another site.

Certificate

Signature and validity

Certificate number, level, signature status, issue time, expiry and current lifecycle state where publicly available.

Evidence

Score and limitations

Current public-safe score and evidence context when the badge level includes them, with an explicit reminder that no badge guarantees safety.

Payment does not buy a better trust result.

HIP applies the same published eligibility policy to the requested level. This page intentionally makes no pricing claim.
